Prayer Spotlight on The Sanctuary, October 10-16

"For then I will give to the peoples purified lips,
That all of them may call on the name of the LORD,
To serve Him shoulder to shoulder."
~ Zephaniah 3.9

Dear Saints,

Our Prayer Spotlight this week, October 4-10, has been on Thinkers and Believers, Pastor Darren and Melissa Twa.
"Lord Jesus, please set Your Truth and Your Love as guard and guide by night and day for the all the souls at Thinkers and Believers Church."
This coming week's Prayer Spotlight, October 11-15, will be on The Sanctuary, Pastor Reuben and Shirley Sapien.
"Father God, in the days that remain for the Church to serve You by faith, before we see You as You are, before we know You as we are known, let the Church come into the unity that Jesus asked You for in His high priestly prayer. Let us serve You with one heart and one mind, shoulder-to-shoulder, as Your Word promises...

Father, we ask You to set the brothers and sisters at The Sanctuary Church as a signet upon Your hand, and as a seal upon Your heart. Let them marvel at Your favor upon them, and may they ever be caught up in a spirit of thanksgiving and praise to God, through Jesus Christ.
Grant them spiritual wisdom, insight, and discernment, to know and to choose that which is excellent in Your sight, and to walk it out in the strength and provision of Your Spirit...

"Grant our brothers and sisters at The Sanctuary to be continually growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Grant them to pursue holiness with simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. May they always be an example of the spiritual love and unity that delights Your heart, not of human perfection, but of godly love, acceptance, forgiveness, grace, and joy.

"Thank You, Father, for leading us by Your Spirit to love and pray for one another, in Jesus' Name."

So, dear saints, may God encourage you as He continues to create in Kenmore a City of Life, and as He continues to knit us together heart-to-heart to form a net for His harvest.

Prayer Spotlight on the Lighthouse Foursquare

"If you ask Me anything in My name,
I will do it." ~John 14.14

Dear saints,

Our Prayer Spotlight this week, September 5-11, 2010, has been on the Kenmore Community Church, Pastor Mark and MaryBeth Rogers. Praise God for working all things together for their good in Christ.

Our Prayer Spotlight next week, September 12-18, will be on the Lighthouse Foursquare Church, Pastor Bill and Terry Hill.

"Lord Jesus, You have invited us to ask for anything in Your Name, and You will do it. So we ask You that all the brothers and sisters at the Lighthouse Foursquare Church, young and old, would grow in grace this week, and in the knowledge of You. Please fill their dreams with faith-building stories of how great You are. Fill their waking hours with an awareness of Your Presence. Teach them, by Your Spirit in them, all of Who You are, and all that is freely given to them in You...

"Holy Savior, please stir their hearts to give You all, to die to the flesh and live to God. Stir their hearts with holy ambition to please You, to be ready by grace for the judgment to come, to be the Bride who has made herself ready. Stir their hearts with godly jealousy for
the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ, to be weaned from the world, to lay up treasures in heaven. Tune their ears to Your Voice; focus their eyes on Your Light; refresh them in body, soul, and spirit this week by Your Touch.  We thank You, Father God, for all this, in Jesus' Name...

"Father, for all the Church in Kenmore, we ask You to establish us in Your orderly array. Teach us how to put on the armor of Christ, how to stand, and how to take territory in Jesus' Name, for we are Yours and Yours alone."

Prayer Spotlight on Kenmore Community Church

"The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble,
and He knows those who take refuge in Him." ~ Nahum 1.7

Dear saints,

We've been entrusted with many personal prayer requests this week. Thank you for enduring in prayer, even in times when it doesn't flow easily. You are wearing spiritual armor, facing an unseen enemy, but your weapons--invisible words!--are mighty through God! Praise Him to whom all power belongs.

Our Prayer Spotlight this week, August 29-Sept 4, has been on the First Romanian Pentecostal Church, Pastor Vasile Antemie.

Our Prayer Spotlight next week September 5-11, 2010, will be on Kenmore Community Church, Pastor Mark and MaryBeth Rogers.

Praying for missing teen and her family: UPDATE 9/2/10.

UPDATE 9/2/10: Jennie has been spotted in Mukilteo; her hair has been cut. The man she was with compelled her to run with him when they were spotted. Please understand as you pray that she is very naive and emotionally vulnerable, very young for her age. Our Father, who is with every sparrow who falls, is with everyone involved; may every heart turn to Him in Jesus' Name.

Jennifer has been missing from her home in Edmonds, Washington, since August 26, 2010, when she went for a walk late because she couldn't sleep. It is not believed that she ran away. If you have seen Jennifer, please call 911.

Worshiping Christ as "THE LORD, THE KING" on Sunday, August 29

From Pastor Steve Hall:

Hi my dear friends in Jesus,
Let us shout for joy to Jesus, the Lord the King, and resound at His majesty with all the world.
THE LORD THE KING
August 29 Psalm 98:4-9 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—shout for joy before the Lord, the King.  Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.  Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy; let them sing before the Lord, for He comes to judge the earth.  He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.
CHRIST IS ALL,

Steve Hall

Prayer Spotlight August 29-Sept 4, 2010: First Romanian Pentecostal Church

"So also the Lord directed those who proclaim the gospel
to get their living from the gospel."
~ 1 Corinthians 9.14

Dear saints,

I wasn't intending to use 1 Corinthians 9.14 as the banner verse for this week, but ran across it while looking for another verse. My heart leapt with a desire to honor those among us who serve in the proclamation of the gospel, and with a desire that we who benefit from their labor would remember to "share all good things" with those who teach us the Word. It's a humbling position for them, I imagine, so let us make it a joy for them by our willingness to give them double honor, as unto the Lord.

Our Prayer Spotlight this week, August 22-28, has been on Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Pastor John Fergueson:
"Father God, thank You for Your faithfulness to those who have put their trust in You."

Our Prayer Spotlight next week, August 29-September 4 (CAN YOU BELIEVE IT IS ALREADY SEPTEMBER!!), will be on First Romanian Pentecostal Church, Pastor Vasile Antemie.

"Father in heaven, can we really be made one in Christ? Only by Your Spirit. Help us by grace not to fear this unity, that it will somehow diminish us. Just as we came to You for salvation, utterly casting our lot on Jesus, ready to let Him do whatever was needed to make us acceptable to the Father, even so we come to You for this supernatural unity that we cannot attain to by will-power or moral effort or any human effort but to trust and obey by grace...

Lord Jesus, thank You for putting a heart of worship into the brothers and sisters at First Romanian Pentecostal Church. We stand with them against every lying spirit of fear that would try to stop them from becoming all that You have called them to be in Christ, that would try to stop them from receiving all that is freely given to them in Christ, that would try to stop them from doing all the good works You have prepared beforehand that they should walk in, in Christ...

We say AMEN to all the good promises You have made to these dear saints at FRPC. Protect them from the evil one by Your great Power, Lord God. Grant them  to continually have open eyes in the Spirit, open ears to hear Your voice, and open hearts to say YES to You. Let all the glory of Jesus to be revealed in them and through them right here in our community. Knit our hearts together with them in prayer and in acts of service, that Jesus may be known, exalted, and loved in Kenmore. We ask in Jesus' Name."

Prayer Requests and Praises:

--please continue to pray for a missions team going to a national, secular camp-out now through early September. Pray that the enemy would have no power to distract them or hinder them, but that they would be given great freedom to worship God unafraid, that His Light would pour out through them to the unsaved campers.

--Pray that the Kenmore Art Show at Northlake Lutheran Church, August 21 - 29, 2:30pm - 8:30pm daily, will be blessed by the Presence of the Savior, that God will make many connections to increase His harvest in our city. And go enjoy the beautiful artwork! There are musical events every evening during the art show, including the city-wide praise night on Sunday Evening, August 29 at 7:00 p.m
All events held at Northlake Lutheran Church, 6620 NE 185TH St., Kenmore, Washington. See http://www.artsofkenmore.org/ and click on EVENTS.

-Please pray that Jesus Christ--the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth, who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood--that this same heavenly King will bring His rule over our community. He cares for the sparrow, and how much more over His sons and daughters. We seek His rule over Kenmore's marketplace, to bring good occupants to the vacant business places in Kenmore.

-Join weekly prayer for the city every Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
at The Living Room ~Consignment Gallery & Tea~ next door to Care Net Pregnancy Center, by the Kenmore U.S. Post Office.

Prayer Spotlight: Episcopal Church of the Redeemer

"Honor the LORD from your wealth
And from the first
of all your produce..." Proverbs 3.9

Dear saints,

The partial verse above leads into a word sent out by Pastor Jim Hayford of Eastside Foursquare in Bothell, which I've copied below. I hope you will find it encouraging and challenging.

Just before that, you'll find info on city-wide prayer, a city-wide art show, city-wide musical events, so jump in!

Our Prayer Spotlight this week, August 15-21, has been on Epiphany Lutheran and Pastor Richard Riggert. Thank God for all He is accomplishing in them and through them!
Our Prayer Spotlight this coming week, August 22-28, will be on Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Pastor John Fergueson.

"Father in heaven, as we reflect on the past 3-1/2 years since You initiated Kenmore Prayer Circle, we thank You for what You have begun. We are confident that You who have begun a good work in us, will complete until the day of our Lord Jesus. What a blessed assurance! Our salvation is Your work, so it will be a complete work. If any part of it were left to us, we would still be in peril. We rest on the completed work of Jesus, our Lord, our Savior. Teach us how to walk it out, live it out, grow into who we are in Christ...

"Father God, please extend Your hand of power over the flock at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer.
Keep them in Your safe pastures, and bring all their prodigals home. Keep their hearts in Your peace. Let not fear rule over them, for Your Name's sake. Lead them, as a Shepherd, by the still waters. Guide them into all truth. Keep them from the evil one. Take them as Your own, for the sake of the Cross. Multiply connections between the saints throughout all Your congregations. Break off all connections between us and error; bring us into holy unity in Your Spirit: one heart, one mind, one voice declaring the one truth of the gospel, that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. We ask in Jesus' Name with praise and thanksgiving to God."

Prayer Requests and Praises:

--pray for a missions team going to a national, secular camp-out during the last week of August. They need God's favor, His provision, His protection, and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and power to be Jesus' witnesses. God does amazing things every year, so we are looking to Him for MORE this year!

--Pray that the Kenmore Art Show at Northlake Lutheran Church will be blessed by the Presence of the Savior, that God will make many connections to increase His harvest in our city. And go enjoy the beautiful artwork! There are musical events every evening during the art show, including a city-wide praise night!
All events held at Northlake Lutheran Church, 6620 NE 185TH St., Kenmore, Washington
See http://www.artsofkenmore.org/ and click on EVENTS.

--Thank you for your prayers for my aromatherapy talk at the Stonecroft Ministries' brunch this morning. I felt completely peaceful and even though my talk didn't go exactly as rehearsed (do they ever?), I trust our Lord will use it to bless those who heard. Praise God for His mercy! Pray for Jesus to continue to be exalted, and lost souls brought to Jesus through Stonecroft Ministries.

-Thank God for each of you saints, for every arrow prayer, every intercession. Remember, we pray for the city every Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at The Living Room ~Consignment Gallery & Tea~ next door to Life Choices/Care Net by the Kenmore U.S. Post Office.

May the Lord continually open our ears to hear His voice, "This is the Way, walk ye in it."

Spotlight for Sunday, January 31, 2010: Life and healing ministries in Kenmore

"Now choose life, so that you and your children may live."
~ Deuteronomy 30.19

Dear saints,

We know our God loves us to choose life and to be His agents in creating a culture of life. And we know He responds to our Spirit-led prayers for the transformation of lives and of nations.

Our prayers are needed now, that our state legislature would not enact legislation restricting clinics like Life Choices Pregnancy Clinic from helping women who need hope and help during crisis pregnancies. This issue will be in committee on Wednesday, January 27. May the Lord deal with it there, or at any stage of the process that will bring Him the most glory and honor. (Full report below.)

The last 12 weeks, we have prayed for each of our 12 Kenmore congregations in turn, so this coming week, Sunday, January 31, 2010, our Prayer Spotlight is on 5 ministries connected to Kenmore that address the sanctity of life, sexual integrity, and healing:

~ CareNet/Life Choices Pregnancy Center: provides a safe, confidential place to receive the medical services and information needed when facing a crisis pregnancy
~ Healing Hearts Ministries International: Christ-Centered healing for post-abortion and other traumas: "He sent His Word and healed them."
~ Legacy Institute:  educational resources that empower people to be whole in a sexually broken culture
~ Healing the Culture: a nonprofit educational organization promoting a culture of life
~ Northshore Healing Rooms: a place to receive confidential, non-judgmental prayer for your healing on every level. NHR is now in their own location: 10125 Mainplace Suite A, Bothell, WA 98011

"Father in heaven, thank You for moving us to ask You for what You want to give us, that Kenmore shall be a city of Life...

"Please increase our faith to seek You for all that means, to believe what You tell us, and to receive all that You desire to give us, to the glory of Jesus. We don't want to be like those who lost their entry to the Land of Promise by being slow of heart to believe You...

"Father God, we ask You to pour out Your heart to the people through Jesus in these ministries to Kenmore: Life Choices, Healing Hearts, Legacy Institute, Healing the Culture, and Northshore Healing Rooms. Keep them on track with Your purposes for their existence. Guard them from dissension within and without. Give them favor with those who need to hear what they have to say in Jesus' Name. Open the windows of heaven and pour out the material provision for their work. Raise up workers for every role that needs to be filled, and anoint them with Your Holy Spirit and with fire to serve You in love and truth, for Jesus' sake...

"We believe You desire Kenmore to be a city where the poor have the gospel preached to them, where the broken-hearted are bound up, where the prisoners are set free, where the captives hear the proclamation of release, where the lame are healed and the blind receive their sight.

"Father, we believe You desire Kenmore to be a place where people receive courage to choose life, where they learn to reject every unclean spirit of fear, but welcome Your Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind...

"
Thank You Father, for Your good plans for the souls of this city. Lord, we ask You to make the Church the full expression of Your will. Jesus, please be free to express Yourself in us and through us by Your Spirit dwelling in us, in Jesus' Name and for His glory."

Amen? Thank you for praying!
Please remember to pray with us for the city for one hour each Friday morning. If you can come in person, we meet at The Living Room Consignment & Tea, at 8:30 a.m. Fridays, next to Life Choices Pregnancy Clinic

May our worship bring Him pleasure, our repentance bring His favor, our surrender and obedience bring His power, that all may bring Him glory.

Love to you in Jesus' Name,

Spotlight for January 24, 2010 on The Worship Center

"Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation.
For You I wait all the day."
~ Psalm 25.5

Dear saints,

Please share this with others in your sphere who are interested in praying for our community.

Here's a great resource in praying for city transformation: Tim Taylor's "Operation Rolling Thunder", now available as an ebook:
http://stores.lulu.com/watchmantt
For your calendar:
"Praying Globally, Connecting Locally": Operation Rolling Thunder's 2010 Kick-Off for Washington State will be March 5-6 at Christ Church Kirkland:

Our Prayer Spotlight next Sunday, January 24, 2010, is The Worship Center, Pastor Paul Isacson
7915 NE 192nd Street, Kenmore, WA 98028, 206-686-9494

I've been enjoying browsing through blueletterbible.org's collection of verses that use the Hebrew word "qavah", waiting on the Lord. Looking to Him, longing for Him. And I found 16 promises! Let's use these in our prayer for The Worship Center:

"Father in heaven, You are so amazingly faithful and true. Your every word is our very life. Help us to obey the New Commandment, that we would love one another as Jesus has loved us. His love is so perfectly unselfish and sacrificial, it is beyond us, but we believe You make it possible by grace through faith. Thank You, Father. As we wait upon You together, help us show this impossible love by praying for one another continually...

"Bless all our brothers and sisters at The Worship Center this week, Father. Let them experience Your love sweeping them up in Your holy embrace, as they wait upon You, Father God. Just as Your every promise is "Yes" in Christ, let their "Amen" resound to the glory of God through them. Strengthen them this week by Your grace to endure in hope and joy, and to wait upon You. Let every saint at The Worship Center, young and old, receive every promise You've made to those who wait upon You, for we ask in Jesus' Name, for His pleasure, honor, and glory."

So, here are the promises I found. Maybe you will find more! By grace, let us proclaim and claim every promise of God as our birthright in Christ, for faithful is He who has promised and He will also bring it to pass!

As we wait upon the Lord...

  1. ...we will not be ashamed!
  2. ...we will be preserved by integrity and uprightness
  3. ...we will be strong and courageous
  4. ...we will inherit the land
  5. ...we will be exalted to inherit the land, and will see the wicked cut off
  6. ...God will incline to us and hear our cry
  7. ...we will be in the company of His godly ones
  8. ...we will have hope
  9. ...God will save us
  10. ...we will see our God, we will rejoice and be glad in His salvation
  11. ...God will be gracious to us; He will strengthen us every morning and save us in time of distress
  12. ...we will gain new strength, mount up with wings like eagles, run and not get tired, walk and not become weary
  13. ...the Name of the Lord our God and the Holy One of Israel will glorify us
  14. ...we will no longer walk in the stubbornness of our evil heart (yay for new hearts!)
  15. ...the Lord will be good to us
  16. ...we will observe kindness and justice

Let's also remember those who have asked us to stand with them in prayer:

==> praying for God's power to lift and expand the ministries in our region, that Jesus may be known by all.

==> continuing to pray for a son who has fluid in his lungs and a blockage in his intestines.

==> continuing to pray for Colton, a 10-year old boy, a young man of prayer, with leukemia. May God pour out faith in great measure, that the Lord Jesus may move unhindered to accomplish all that He desires in Colton's life and his family.

==> continuing to pray that the empty restaurant in the parking lot across from Life Choices Pregnancy Center would be used by God to increase His presence in the marketplace, and to increase the light of life in Kenmore.

==> praying for the Church in America to humble herself under God's hand, resist the devil, receive His healing grace.

==> praying for the ManhattanDeclaration.org affirming the sanctity of human life, the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife, and the rights of conscience and religious liberty.

Please remember The Living Room Consignment & Tea exists to help support Kenmore Prayer Circle, provide a place of prayer for the community, serve as a marketplace connection for furniture and local art, and as a place of fellowship.

Thanks!
