Friday morning prayer for the city

Dear praying saints,
Today's Friday morning prayer for the city is shared with you here. Use it however you wish, or just add the AMEN :^)
Be blessed today in the glorious Name of Jesus!

Kenmore Prayer Circle

"Father God, thank You for granting us access through the blood of Christ to come for cleansing, for comfort, to worship You and commune with our Creator. How great and awesome is our God...

"Father in heaven, we enter by the Door which is Christ, and we come into all that You are. We enter the realms of Jehovah by faith, into a vast kingdom full of wonders...

"Father, as we sit amazed in Your Presence, You know our needs; You desire to meet those needs in Christ Jesus. We bring before You all our concerns and cares:

~ bless the Church in Kenmore with unity in the Spirit of Christ. Grant the entire Church to be knit together in Love, to connect and communicate, to learn how to serve Jesus shoulder to shoulder with one mind and one voice proclaiming the gospel. Lord, please make the appointments and connections that all Your harvest workers need today to multiply the harvest work.

~ bless the families in Kenmore; protect us from the evil one; protect us from evil ideas masquerading as good; help each of us be humble before You and learn to prefer one another in honor. Forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Shape our expectations according to Your Word, to be gracious to one another in all humility and good will. Reward us as we seek You, for this is Your promise.

~ bless the government in Kenmore. Protect us from unrighteous views of government, from the right or the left. Help us to keep our eyes on Jesus while we participate in earthly government through voting or volunteering or serving. Let Your rule extend through the lives of mortal men and women, to shape Kenmore into a City of Life.

~ bless the marketplace in Kenmore. Thank You that we can call on Almighty Jehovah for a blessing in the midst of adversity. As the Psalmist declares, "Blessed be the LORD, For He has made marvelous His lovingkindness to me in a besieged city." Yes, Lord, we receive Your lovingkindness in this city, knowing that we wrestle not against people, nor against a siege from the economy or politics, but against spiritual forces of darkness. We put on the armor of Light to stand in Jesus' Name and see You work wonders in our midst. Father, we don't know how to fix the marketplace, but You do; we declare in Jesus' Name that the marketplace in Kenmore serves the Living God and brings honor to the King of Kings. We ask You to cleanse all our hearts of fear and greed and self-will; fill us instead with the Spirit of Jesus in love, power, and a sound mind. Hallelujah :^)

~ bless the schools in Kenmore. Father, from preschool to Sunday School to the public schools to Bastyr University, we call for the Spirit of God to move in our schools, to shine the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ throughout our schools. We ask You to strengthen and encourage Your children who are students, teachers, or workers in the schools, that Your light would shine through them in such a way that people would see their good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven. Bless, protect, and increase Your work through Anthony Schulz at Young Life; grant him great favor and protection from all evil in his family, in his tentmaking, and in his ministry, that Your harvest might increase.

"Lord, grant us to be faithful with a little. Train us up to trust You now. Teach us how to walk by faith, truly, in the trials and difficulties we face. We make plans in prayer and lay them before You; help us not try to dictate the outcome from our own imagination, but to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, that You would bring us out at the proper time, when all that the trial was meant to do has been done. We ask not to be delivered too soon, but to be sustained by Grace, held by Love, guarded by Truth. Bring us out into release on exactly the right day at exactly the right time to fulfill all Your purposes, for You alone are worthy of such a task; Your wisdom never fails.  We trust You for an outcome beyond all we can ask or think, to the glory of God, to the praise of Your glorious grace...

"Lord, we want to remember before You specifically the spiritual and physical and emotional and financial needs of those in our midst suffering affliction today: Pastor Dennis Trout and his family; David Shelton and his family; Elosha here for surgery from Kazakhstan; Lorren B needing Your healing touch; Sean needing grace during cancer; Loren and Wanda facing cancer and eviction; Janice after a car accident ... so many others we may not know the names but You do and we trust all our community to Your love; we offer our lives for You to work in and through us to meet needs for us and through us, in Jesus' Name. Let each of us taste of Your goodness today and give You thanks.

"Father in heaven, thank You so much for walking with us at all times, for listening to our heart's conversations. Search us today, know us, see if there's any evil in us and lead us in the everlasting Way. Thank You for working all things for our good. We love You, Abba, in Jesus' Name."

Prayers for October, 2011, and fundraiser opportunity

"...that He might present her to Himself a glorious church,
not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish." ~Ephesians 5:27

Dear saints,

Please be in prayer for God to govern our city, and to guide the voters to choose those who will do His will.

We are also agreeing with you in prayer for an outburst of mercy, grace, healing, provision, and deliverance for those in our midst facing ongoing challenges in health, in relationships, in work, and in finances.

Father in heaven, we pray that as You choose to channel these blessings through the Church to her individual members, that we would be willing vessels who listen and obey. May You Yourself, Lord God, guide and shape the Body of Christ into relationships that will be a safety net for people whose world is turned upside down, that we won't be stuck in religious activity or daily distractions, but will walk together with Christ and with each other in newness of life, in Jesus' Name. Praises to You, Lord our God. Thanks to You forever!

FUNDRAISING? Donate quality household furnishings to The Living Room Consignment & Tea with the consignment proceeds going directly to needs in the Church, such as the people on our prayer list, or for missions, or any work of the gospel that you designate.

*Linda shared an encouraging word in her latest CaringBridge journal entry:
"Please pray for Dennis
    • Dennis’ blood counts have dropped recently and this has been a challenge! For now, he won’t have to have a blood transfusion as previously thought.
    • He is going to have to take Revlimid capsules that can have adverse reactions. This helps target the “hot spot” cancer cells that are producing “bad” proteins. Dennis said no to radiation treatment.
    • He will be receiving vitamin B shots to give him more energy.
    • He is struggling with painful neuropathy in his legs and feet.
    • Financial provision for treatment.
Our friends Simon & Sarah gave us a gift today with these words: WHAT CANCER CANNOT DO:
CANCER IS SO LIMITED…
IT CANNOT CRIPPLE LOVE, IT CANNOT SHATTER HOPE,
IT CANNOT DISSOLVE FAITH, IT CANNOT DESTROY PEACE,
IT CANNOT KILL FRIENDSHIP, IT CANNOT SUPPRESS MEMORIES,
IT CANNOT SILENCE COURAGE, IT CANNOT INVADE THE SOUL,
IT CANNOT STEAL ETERNAL LIFE, IT CANNOT CONQUER THE SPIRIT.

(Primitives-Kathy Phillips, Lancaster, Pennsylvania)
We agree with these decrees!
We are grateful for all your prayers, love, and financial help. All monies go toward his weekly treatments.
Our God wins!

Prayer Spotlight for July, 2011: Reaching...

"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." James 4.8

"Father in heaven, we thank You for Your precious and magnificent promises that draw us to Your heart. We will always need You; we will never grow to a point where we need You less, only growing to realize more and more how completely we need You...

"Glorious God, we are designed to need You. As a fish needs the ocean, as a bird needs the skies, we need our God, in whom we live and move and have our being. Maybe a fish or a bird could be made to survive outside their designed environment, in a tank or a cage. But that is not Your best for them. In the same way, Lord, we ask to live free from the cages of unbelief, fear, selfishness, greed, deception, and all other manner of sin. We ask You in Jesus' Name for Your best for us, to taste on earth the atmosphere of heaven where there is incorruptible righteousness, unfathomable peace, unspeakable joy in the Holy Spirit, unfailing love, pure freedom and uncompromised truth...

"Living God, You have promised that when we abide in Your Word and Your Word abides in us, we will know the truth, and the truth will set us free. Free in Your ocean of love, mercy and grace. Free in Your skies of truth and justice. Free to make the hard choices that earth-life requires of heaven's children...

"Father in heaven, we ask in Jesus' Name for a Spirit of encouragement to fill all the pastors and harvest workers in Kenmore, with every brother and sister in Christ reaching forward to what lies ahead, pressing on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. We ask for courage to reach out and lean on You, falling into the depths of who You are and finding that instead of dropping, we are soaring on the updraft of worship. We ask in Jesus' Name to breathe in Your fragrance and to breathe out praises and words of kindness and truth...

"Lord, our Saving God, grant us a spirit of love for one another, increasing day by day no matter what adversities come. Renew our hearts by Your Spirit to keep reaching for heaven's prize, to lay hold of that for which also we were laid hold of by Christ Jesus. ..

"We ask all these things with thanks that our prayers reach Your heart, in Jesus' Name. Amen"

Prayer Spotlights for June: marketplace and ministries

Be of good courage, and let us be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. And may the Lord do what is good in His sight. 2 Samuel 10:12 (NKJV)

Dear saints,

First, an invite from Pastor Marvin Jonasen to "COFFEE HOUSE: An Evening of Fellowship & Song" on June 25 at 7:00 p.m., at Northlake Lutheran Church, 6620 NE 185th Street, Kenmore, WA 98028, (425) 486-6977. A freewill offering will be taken to support "The Church of Steadfast Love", a ministry of Compass Housing Alliance.

Second, the headline verse above is borrowed from Emmie Stanley's weekly prayer bulletin for Power To Change, praying for city transformation in Canada, www.powertochange.org: "When we pray over our cities, we partner with God for His purposes in the earth, and He will bring it to pass."

Last, the Prayer Spotlights:
This week's Prayer Spotlight for June 4-10, 2011: the marketplace in Kenmore.
"Father in heaven, we praise You for establishing Your throne on Righteousness and Justice. We thank You for setting boundaries on our lives through Your eternal principles. Thank You for teaching us the law of sowing and reaping. Thank You for teaching us how to use our marketplace choices as spiritual warfare...

"Father God, we confess that we have often failed to apply Your eternal values to our marketplace exchanges, whether buying or selling or working or employing. Please forgive us for being earthly-minded and carnal. Forgive us for being selfish, greedy, lazy, mindless, and wasteful. Please grant us wisdom to understand the consequences of our marketplace choices. Guide us to buy and sell, to work and to hire, based on Your precepts and led by Your Spirit.

"Lord Jesus, help us do our work heartily, as unto You. Help us to steward Your money with wisdom and generosity and a view to generational blessings. Help us to understand, live by, and defend Your principles in every facet of life, on every level of society. For Jesus' honor, we ask to be Christians of integrity, whose lives are not divided into "sacred and secular", but who are altogether holy, set apart unto God, in all we think, and say, and do, to the glory of Jesus...

"Lord Jesus, by Your invitation and our choice to respond, we are yoked to You, not to our burdens or to our desires. Yoked to You and led by Your Spirit, we are set free to do what is right in joy and thanksgiving. Thank You, gracious Savior."

==============================
Next week's Prayer Spotlight for June 11-17, 2011: the ministries in Kenmore:
"Dear Heavenly Father, thank You SO much for placing so many ministries in Kenmore. Thank You for increasing our connections in Christ for greater impact in this city. Thank You for giving every saint special gifts and assignments to advance Your gospel in Kenmore. Please protect each of Your servants. Provide for their material needs. Please fill them with Your Spirit and grant them wisdom to use their spiritual gifts, their time, their money, and their relational connections to honor and exalt You...

"Father, please stir each heart to seek You earnestly, to listen for Your voice, to delight to do Your will. Please create a time and place for us all to get together and do 3 things: (1) worship You together, (2) love each other better, and (3) work together to see this city transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. In His name and for His glory we ask.

Thanks for praying for the city. If you have prayer requests or praise reports to share, send them. You are welcome to join a focused time of prayer for the city on Friday mornings at 8:30-9:30 at The Living Room Consignment, next to CareNet Pregnancy Resources Center in Kenmore.

7 Prayer Principles...a tool for intercession

A friend shared this prayer guide from Sylvia Gunter at www.thefathersbusiness.com, and I love it. Thank God for giving us times of refreshing, and so many tools and encouragements to keep our prayer times fresh.
While this guide is aimed at praying for specific nations that God lays on your heart, I've also used it to pray for individuals who are going through trials and need someone to stand with them in intercession. May it be a blessing to you, however you may use it!
==================================================================
 7 Prayer Principles
1. Lift up Jesus as Lord to the glory of the Father and acknowledge His sovereignty, rule, and authority in your life, in the whole earth, and in a particular country.  Glorify the King of kings.  God reigns, Ps 47:8.  His dominion endures, Ps 145:11-13.
2. By the blood of Jesus and in His all-powerful name, in prayer make an appeal in the court of heaven against all spiritual forces that are operating in the country to blind it, bind it, and hold it captive. Claim that the name of the LORD subjugates every opposing ruling power and causes every knee to bow in submission to His rule and authority.  Eph 1:21-22,  Phil 2:9-11.

3. Pray for the Spirit of God to open the heavens over a specific area or country. Pray for a Holy Spirit breakthrough over the traditional religious systems that dominate. Confess idolatry and sins of the nation/peoples. Ask God to rend the heavens and come down, Isa 64:1-4.

4. Pray for an awakened church  John 17.
  • Pray for a spirit of humility, repentance, and revival  2 Chron 7:14
  • Pray for the church to move in unity, love, and power of the Spirit John 17:23, 24, 26
  • Ask for God's protection and will   John 17:4, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19
  • Pray for use of spiritual weapons and armor  2 Cor 10:3-4
  • Pray for all in authority  1 Tim 2:1-4
  • Ask God for just men to rule in the fear of the Lord  2 Sam 23:3
  • Thank God that he is not willing for any to perish   2 Peter 3:9
  • Ask for God's provision for sin be applied to the need of all those who do not know the Savior   John 17:25
  • That children and youth hear the gospel and learn the character of God and go forth as the "sent ones"   Mark 10:14-15
5. Pray for pastors and Christian leaders who are God-anointed, God-appointed, and God-empowered and for a mighty movement of intercessory prayer that is aggressive in worship and warfare.

6. Pray for political leaders to repent, receive salvation, and govern righteously and for the "most unlikely" unrighteous men to be converted and become radical disciples.  Pray for Christians in leadership to know their God and stand strong in the fear of the Lord.

7. Pray for the Lord of the harvest to reap multitudes for spiritual awakening and salvation and that new believers will be strong, growing disciples in the Lord.

Father, glorify Your name in all the earth.

Can you help lost dog reunite with her owners? UPDATE: REUNITED!

A neighbor found this female dog in her yard today just beyond Northshore Summit in Kenmore. No one seems to know the dog. She's a mellow, sweet dog. No collar. No chip. She's spayed, healthy and well-cared for. The vet says she's 2-3 years old. (The photo angle here makes her look like she has a huge head, but she's just a normal dog :^)

Some family must be missing their pet!

If you can help reunite this dog with her owners, please contact us at The Living Room Consignment & Tea, 425-877-1074.

Prayer Spotlight for May 8-14, 2011, church180 in Kenmore

"May the LORD give you increase, You and your children." ~Psalm 115.14

Dear saints,

Our prayer spotlight this week, May 1-7, is on The Lighthouse Foursquare, Pastor Bill Hill.
The Lighthouse is hosting a National Day of Prayer gathering from 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5th
15725 Simonds Road NE, Kenmore, WA 98028
(across the road from Inglemoor H.S.)
If your congregation does not have its own gathering that day, please join us for a significant and focused time of worshiping King Jesus and interceding for Him to be revealed in our nation, in our community, in our families, among our neighbors...

Our prayer spotlight for the coming week, May 8-14, will rotate to:
* Church180, Pastor Dustin and Julie Largent
18612 72nd Ave NE
, Kenmore, WA 98028, (206) 384-7824, dustinlargent@frontier.com
http://180.tv

"Father in heaven, You are our Shepherd and You are our True Pasture. You are our Bread and You are the Hand reaching out to give it to us. Grant Pastor Dustin and his congregation to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ as All-in-all, and to grow in Grace...

"Lord, please create opportunities to knit their hearts together with all the saints, since they are part of the Body of Christ in Kenmore. Remove obstacles to our unity, Father, for Jesus' sake...

"Gracious King, show these brothers and sisters good things from Your Word this week to increase their courage and faith. Show them answers to their long-standing prayer requests, to increase their joy in the Lord. Bring them new believers to disciple, to increase their numbers daily with those who are being saved. Open up the windows of heaven and pour out material blessings, that they may have a double portion--enough for their own needs and enough to share with those in need...

"We ask all these things in Jesus' Name and for His glory and pleasure. Thank You, Lord!"

Please remember the multi-family garage sale event this Saturday, May 7, which will benefit Pastor Dennis Trout's healthcare fund. The addresses are pasted below (look for the red & white balloons!). "Father in heaven, we pray for Pastor Dennis' complete healing, for his family's complete uplifting and encouraging, and for good garage sale weather this Saturday with lots of sales. Please supply people this week with funds to spend on Saturday, and move them to redirect those funds as You desire. All things are in Your hands. Thank You for Your mercy!"

Announcing a new good thing in Kenmore! Kenmore Neighbors is an idea birthed in Charles Crouch, to facilitate community relationships by sharing our strengths, with a view to being emergency-ready as a community. Cool, huh? Check out his facebook page to participate in connecting as neighbors to meet practical needs and see our neighborhoods blessed, or email kenmoreneighbors@gmail.com. This idea will take some time to grow and mature, but it is a beautiful seed, full of promise. Another way that God is blessing our city!

May the Lord bless you this week with increase in all that is good!

Prayer Spotlight April 10-16, 2011: First Romanian Pentecostal Church

"And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace,
which is able to build you up
and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified."
~ Acts 20.32
Dear saints,
Praise God for giving us each other as part of our inheritance in Christ. May we truly grow in our devotion to each other, just as Christ is devoted to us.

This week, I'd like to share with you a prayer written by Wayne Dillard on the morning of April 3, 2010, not knowing it would be the day he would go home to be with our Savior in heaven. (See prayer just below Spotlight.) Kathleen Dillard continues their ministry of encouragement to prayer and good deeds: www.prayercentral.net

Prayer Spotlight for this week April 3-9: We continue prayer for Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Pastor John Fergueson, that they would hit their target, reach the prize, and fulfill their destiny in and through Jesus Christ our Redeemer.

Prayer Spotlight for next week April 10-16:  Let's use Wayne's prayer this week, putting in the name of First Romanian Pentecostal Church,
Pastor Vasile Antemie, 8315 NE 155th, Kenmore, WA 98028, (425) 488-7783, http://www.frpcs.com/

Wayne Dillard’s Resurrection Prayer
"I was thinking about Christ this morning, and His resurrection. How He ascended and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. And how He is now represented on earth through His Body, the collective believers He is gathering together from every tongue and tribe and nation. We are His voice, and hands and feet, and together, as we each move in obedience to the Holy Spirit we represent Him in this dark and fallen world.
"What a privilege, what a blessing, to be in this world, but not of it. To be a reflection of hope to those in despair. To be the ones who call out into this cave of darkness, “over here, over here, we found the way out!” We have been rescued by the death and resurrection of Christ, and we now have the privilege of bring that ‘Good News’ to others.
"Prayer:
"I bless you in the name of Christ, whose blood covers the doorpost of your life, whose death set you free from darkness, and whose resurrection empowers you to glorify His name through bold acts of faith.
"I bless you in the name of the One, who loves you with an everlasting love, who knows all your thoughts, catches ever tear, and hears every whisper. The One who makes a way when there is no way, and brings streams in the midst of your desert.
"I bless you with the peace of Christ that passes understanding, and carries you up and over the obstacles of life. The knowing that there is more than you can see, and that in Christ you live and breathe and move and have your being.
"I bless you with the resurrection power of Jesus, that calls you to your place, unites you with fellow believers, equips you for exploits and sends you forth with boldness and purpose.
"May Jesus, the son God, the Christ, the Lamb that was slain for the sins of the world, the Prince of Peace, the King of Kings, the One true God, who reigns and rules forever be represented through your life, and glorified by your faith, love and obedience.
"In the mighty and worthy name of Jesus, Amen."
Wayne Dillard
April 3rd, 2010
We have also received prayer requests for a family facing opposition to the gospel among its generations, resulting in serving a cult, in addictions and multiplied sorrows. Let us pray for deliverance for A.H.'s family, by the power of God who is greater than all our enemies, in Jesus' Name and for His sake.

Thank you and bless you for praying for each other! Let's continue to agree with the Eternal God, Jehovah, for the transformation this city through the presence of Jesus in His Body here, by the power of His Spirit indwelling all the saints. Praises to Him forever!

April 1-7, 2011 Prayer Spotlight and bulletin for the Church in Kenmore

"To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb,
be blessing and honor and glory and dominion
forever and ever."
~Revelation 5.13

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

As I read the book of Revelation and consider the frequent scenes of worship at the throne of God, I remember another Scripture, 1 John 4.8, "God is Love". How easily worship flows in the presence of Love. We love because He first loved us; we worship because He first loved us, and we worship in the Presence of Love. Blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever to One whose love blesses us, honors us, glorifies us, and grants us dominion as His servants, in Jesus' Name.

May Jehovah keep us mindful that we live and move and have our being in Love at all times. May our thoughts, words, and actions spring from a desire to honor such a wonderful Savior and Friend. May we be found taking refuge in the Lord, for God knows those who take refuge in Him.

Please remember you are not alone. Let others know when you have needs; how else can we exercise the "one another" commands in Scripture except by sharing life together in Christ? We reject the spirit of fear; it is not from our Father. We pray for the city's welfare in Christ each Friday morning, 8:30-9:30 in Kenmore.

Here are some specific prayer requests and church news items for us:

Prayer Spotlight Feb 27-March 5, 2011: Prayer for our Pastors

"Father in heaven, we thank You for our pastors, the shepherds You have appointed over us. Grant us to honor them properly, to pray for them, to heed Your teaching through them. Grant us Your spirit of generosity, to continue to bless our home churches with our full tithe and our love offerings, so our pastors will be buoyed up by the faithfulness of their flock...faithful to You in response to Your promises...

"Give our pastors a deep and settled peace in knowing Jesus, their Lord and Saviour. Grant them to grow in grace. Bless their families; protect their family circle from the evil one. Protect their communications, that their speech would be pleasing to You and that they would not be misunderstood. Protect their hearts from the liar who shoots darts of discouragement or pride or any other false belief; let the faith of Jesus surround them as a shield and keep their hearts in all humility and joy. Increase their wisdom in the Word, that they may increasingly enjoy You and continually win souls for You..

"Grant them to love each other fervently from the heart, to accept one another, to pray for each other, and to stand together in Your battle array. Connect them as repairers of the breach, restorers of the streets in which to dwell. Let our pastors share a hunger for the Church in this city to live and work together in unity in the Spirit of Jesus, to the display of Your splendor. In Jesus' Name we place these requests before You, Father God, with joy and thanksgiving."

Prayer Spotlight on Cedar Park Northshore, and government

"Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keeps covenant and lovingkindness, do not let all the hardship seem insignificant before You, which has come upon us..."
~ Nehemiah 9.32

Dear saints,

We approach the great, the mighty, the awesome God of all creation with confidence through our Lord Jesus Christ. We can claim His promises to help us, to redeem us, to defend us, to never leave us, because He will always keep covenant with us. His lovingkindness endures forever. Whatever you are facing, however you are buffeted, let us turn and fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith.

Our prayers this week are needed in several areas, so let's armor up and take our stand together before the throne of grace that we may find strength and help in time of need. We all need to hear from our Master at every moment, for His words are our life:

1) Urgently pray that Monday, January 24, 2011, the Lord will defend the pregnancy resource centers in Washington state from SB 5274 and HR 1366. These bills seek to bury life-affirming pregnancy centers under administrative and litigious burdens, leaving the field entirely to those who profit financially from every aborted baby's death. Bills based on the same false accusations were proposed last year and were shown to be groundless. In spite of this, agencies that profit from abortion have mounted another attack and found legislators sympathetic to their plan. Their strategy is to show up en masse to influence the legislature. Please pray about going to Olympia on Monday, January 24, to show support for life.

2) Continue to pray about the root of the abortion issue: hearts that need the love and truth found only in Jesus. You are all invited, Friday evening, March 18, 2011, to the fund-raiser dessert benefit for Healing Hearts International, but you must RSVP. Founded by a woman who aborted her child with no clue that her decision would haunt her for the rest of her life, she found peace and forgiveness in Jesus and was led by Him to help other women.

3) Pray for Kenmore's city council members on their annual planning retreat this weekend, January 21-23. May our God grant them His peace and favor to receive the wisdom of heaven for the issues here on earth. May He grant them great grace to work together through any differences and difficulties that may arise.

4) Please pray that business in Kenmore would prosper. Of course, I have need of that! This has been a tough month, but we are fixing our eyes on Jesus, our Faithful God.

5) Our Prayer Spotlight this week is Cedar Park Northshore, Pastor Jay and Sandy Smith:

"Father in heaven, I pray that You would cause the Church in Kenmore to rally together in Spirit to support each other, to bless Cedar Park Northshore in the Name of the Lord. Keep them entirely pure and holy, ardent in their love for Jesus and for each other. Add to their number DAILY those who are being saved. Disciple them and make them disciplers, so that Your Body grows rich and strong in grace and truth, to the glory of our heavenly Father. Give them a growing awareness of the Presence of the Great, the Mighty, the Awesome God, who dwells in unapproachable Light, whom no man has seen or can see, that their hearts may be filled with awe, with reverence, with gratitude, and with joy that this God loves them with an everlasting Love and has redeemed them in Christ Jesus for all time and eternity. Hallelujah!"

May your heart be filled today with the love, joy, and peace that are yours in Christ Jesus today,

Prayer Spotlight on Bethany Bible Church

"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of Him that brings good news, announcing peace, proclaiming news of happiness,
who announces salvation (Yeshua!), who proclaims to Zion,
'Your God reigns!' "
~Isaiah 52.7

This week, January 10-Sunday, January 16, 2011, our Prayer Spotlight is on Bethany Bible Church, Pastor Scott Ritter. Other requests that have come to us are also placed before the throne of grace.

"Father in heaven, thank You for Your continual blessings in Christ Jesus. Thank You for building unity in the Body of Christ here in Kenmore, as we come together in the Spirit of the Lord. We look to You to continue this miraculous work of the Spirit in response to Jesus' prayer in John 17, that we might be one, to the glory of God the Father. We give You permission to remove from our hearts everything that gets in Your way...

"We praise You, Lord, that Bethany Bible Church reports a season of praise, as they see You answering their cries, meeting their needs, and leading them in Your victory in Christ. Thank You for delivering Jayne Ritter from cancer. Thank You for providing employment. Thank You for giving wisdom to those in need of guidance...

"We ask that this season on the mountaintop will bring an outpouring of the gospel flowing from Bethany Bible Church into this community, as it is written, "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him that brings good news...'

"Father, please increase Your anointing for service on Pastor Ritter and all his congregation. Warm their hearts in Your Word each day. Increase Your light upon the path You have prepared for them to walk in. Make connections for them to share Jesus in loving deeds and words with family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and chance acquaintances this week. Increase the government of Your peace in their hearts and through them into the world, in Jesus' Name."

Other prayer requests:
- join Pastor Dustin Largent and his congregation at Church180 in prayer for John to be delivered from cancer.
- the Shelton family, for David's healing and deliverance from financial need
- the Trout family, in their continued stand against Dennis' cancer, and the financial needs that creates
- Steve, longtime friend, pastor and mentor of the Sheltons, suffered a massive heart attack 1/10/2011 while visiting friends in Phoenix. His friend did CPR on him and the medics arrived in 3 minutes, praise God.  Following immediate stent surgery, he remains in CCU. Please pray with us for a complete recovery and that 2/11/11 at 4pm mountain time when they remove the assist pump that his heart does fine on its own. His family is now in Phoenix.
